I’m sorry, maybe it’s my old age or my MS brain fog, so I’ll need some help remembering. Was it just last week that I wrote about the Vikings playing an all-time bad game? One unlike anything I’d seen in my 49 years on this planet?! Apologies, JJ. I didn’t have the foresight to see … More 2025 Week Thirteen Recap

I turned 49 years old this year. I grew up in a house that religiously watched the Vikings every week, so I’ve seen most of the games they’ve played over the last 45ish years. I’ve been through the various ups and downs the Minnesota football team has offered its fans over the years, and I … More 2025 Week Twelve Recap

Week Eleven had a little bit of everything — big games from the usual suspects (Josh Allen’s 42.68) and unlikely upstarts (Sean Tucker’s 33.00); the constant bevy of injuries (Atlanta got bit twice, losing both Penix and London); last-second field goals that determined games’ outcomes (Chicago making theirs for the win, Seattle missing theirs for … More 2025 Week Eleven Recap

Apologies in advance. I assume this newsletter will be a bit shorter than most. I’m feeling pretty crappy this week, and my head’s just not in the game. Evil Empire tells me productivity has gone up during my absence from work. Joke’s on him, though: I’m writing this while getting paid to be home sick, … More 2025 Week Ten Recap

Another week, another barrage of big-name injuries. That being said, I think the bigger news is how many close, competitive games there were. Everyone figured Bills vs Chiefs would be a tight back-and-forth matchup, but how about the Bears downing the Bengals in a wild shootout? The Vikes somehow going into Detroit and taking one … More 2025 Week Nine Recap

This was the week we celebrated the TE position, and in many cases that worked swimmingly for their respective teams. But, before we get to that, can we lament a trio of RBs that got bit by the injury bug? Judkins and Barkley left their games early, but seem to be ok enough that they … More 2025 Week Eight Recap

Wait, what? We’re halfway through the season already? How did that happen?! While I’m sure it’s been lightning-fast for some, it’s been kind of a drag hitting the reset button on all of my leagues and having absolutely no hope of winning anything. When you’re just going through the motions and biding time until making … More 2025 Week Seven Recap

Many moons ago, I was the commissioner of a 12-team standard redraft league at my workplace. I’d gloat that during its eight-year run I had a stretch where I won 4 out of 5 years, but, well, it’s not like competition was stiff-like-ZaWood when half the people only played for the office camaraderie and then … More 2025 Week Six Recap

Finally, mercifully, the Fantasy Gods have seen fit to take it easy on us this week. Numerous players took short breaks mid-game, but most came back. The biggest injury to this point is Omarion Hampton, who had looked fantastic the past couple weeks in the bell-cow role. Now, it’s off to IR to nurse that … More 2025 Week Five Recap

I mean, I don’t even know what to say anymore. This game has changed from “fantasy football” to “survive the IR apocalypse” in a big damned hurry. And boy-oh-boy these injuries are gnarly this year. Nabers blowing up his knee on a jump-ball was bad, but then Tyreek said “Hold my beer” and proceeded to … More 2025 Week Four Recap
