2020 Week Nine Recap

A new President-Elect, a press conference in a landscaping business’ back lot (sandwiched between a porn shop and a crematorium, no less), and continued fighting over the results. Could there have been a more gonzo election week?! Regardless of your affiliation, it was interesting to watch it all play out and encouraging to see so many people show up to vote. Nicely done, America!

I could go on and on with the political stuff, but doing so would mean less time to talk about my awesome team. I mean, seriously, who doesn’t want to hear about my dominant, highest-score-in-league-history, 184.52 – 84.14, 100-point-plus destruction of Redman’s Underachievers?! Or that I’m back in first place? Huh? Huh? HUH?!

Ok, ok, so my win wasn’t the only big one this past week. For instance, Brent pounded the Analrapists 114.62 – 78.98, a victory that not only helped him leap frog his opponent, but also moved him to the head of the four 5-4 teams. With two huge wins in a row, it appears the Walrus is getting in shape for his playoff push.

Another week, another win for the Evil Empire. It was an important one for Scotty, as it helped him keep pace with me AND gives him a two-game lead on the rest of the league AND keeps him in the running for a first-round bye. Unfortunately for Buzzy, the 121.08 – 94.36 loss has just about closed the door on his season, leading to a different kind of “bye.”

Perhaps the best win of the week goes to our wily Wiz, who managed to sneak past Growler Prowler by a scant .32 points in their 104.60 – 104.28 battle royale. The win was a big one for Alex as it propelled him back into contention. As for Mr. Palmquist, he has to be wondering how the hell the New Orleans Saints completely dismantled Tampa Bay, yet Michael Thomas and Jared Cook couldn’t get more than 10 points combined?!

And last, the worst win of the week goes to…The Punishers? For seven weeks Josh has been doing everything possible to get the first overall pick next year, yet now he finds himself with his second win in a row and technically back in the playoff hunt. ZaWood, on the other hand, finds himself on the outside looking in after the 130.40 – 98.60 loss. I hear the ole Woodster was pretty deflated when he drove home from the stadium that night.

Best of luck in Week Ten, fellas!

Andy
