Welllllll, fuck. Last week’s news that MN was back to being locked down was already a helluva body blow (even though the move was understandable given the state of our hospitals). Unfortunately, it was followed up by a nut shot when our kids’ school district announced they’re shutting down in-person learning until the first full week of January at the earliest. *sigh* Time to get my headache medicine ready.

Truth be told, I need a second batch of margaritas after losing a squeaker to the Evil Empire, 100.94 – 98.96. The win puts Scott in sole possession of first place with only two weeks to go in the regular season. Given he plays the league’s worst two teams during that time, there’s every reason to believe Skeletor has slammed the door on us ever catching him.

As much as the Number One seed seems to be on lockdown, the rest of it is all very much up in the air. I’ve slipped to second place and have numerous teams nipping at my heels. One of those squads, ScienceWalrus, just rattled off his fourth victory in a row, swatting Buzzystinger 127.14 – 101.88. The loss was a costly one for Bryon, as he not only lost Joe Burrow for the season, but also needs a miracle to sneak into the playoffs with the final seed.

I gotta hand it to Ted. Despite his struggles at QB (highlighted this week by lackluster play from Tua Time), he’s hanging in there. This week he had a chance to sneak past The Champ, but came up just short, 100.18 – 95.12. The win helps Scott keep pace with the pack of teams seeking the second playoff bye; meanwhile, Gronk had this to say about laying an egg for the Analrapists in their loss.

Redman’s Underachievers put up a hell of an effort in spite of Marquise Brown’s bagel, but Zach’s squad came up huge with a 128.66 – 113.84 win. The W keeps ZaWood in contention for one of the last playoff spots. Cody’s L, on the other hand, all but cements 1.01 heading into next year. So, you know, there’s that to look forward to. Down the road. In, like, six months. Yeah.

And last, perhaps the biggest win of the week went to The Wiz, who came storming back from a 40-point deficit to overtake The Punishers, 129.24 – 122.16. The road to the final playoff spot is a difficult one, as Alex’s final two games are against me and ScienceWalrus. With good fortune and a little magic, Alex might be able to maintain his position. If not, well, The Wiz will become The Whiz, pissing away his chance at the bee-yoo-tee-ful league trophy.

Happy Thanksgiving, fellas, and best of luck in Week Twelve!
