And then there were two…

I’d like to tell you our semifinal matchups were tense, edge-of-your-seat thrillers, but that wasn’t the case this year. I guess we should have known what was on the agenda once Lamar Jackson went full ham on TNF football, throwing for 5 TDs and giving the Growler Prowlers a 37+ point head start over Puff’s Punishers.

Add in massive weeks from Carson, Adams, Kittle – plus a 50-stack from Brees-to-Thomas – and Palmquist waltzed into the finals, 173.76 – 129.06. Needless to say, Scott’s feeling pretty damned good right now.

Josh, meanwhile, has to be pissed that his team has completely fallen apart down the stretch. After starting 10-1, he’s now lost three in a row, including a Week Twelve bedshitting against the woeful Buzzystinger.

I, on the other hand, can’t put into words how happy I am with Bryon and Osterloh for beating Josh down the stretch, propelling me into the top spot and allowing me to bypass the Growler Prowlers as long as humanly possible.

Of course, all of that would have been moot if I hadn’t been able to beat Alex in my own semifinal matchup. Fortunately, CMC and Zeke were up to the task, scoring over half of my points in a 122.02 – 87.96 rout of The W(h)iz. Better luck next year, my friend!

That leaves us with Alex and Josh battling for 3rd place (and the return of their $50 entry fee), while I futilely flail at the juggernaut that is the Growler Prowlers. Can CMC and Zeke keep pace with LJax, Michael Thomas, and the rest of Scott’s potent offense?

Have a good week, gents!
Andy
