[Shhhhh. Let Bryon sleep while we savage his fantasy football team.]

Bryon (OBJYN)

Strongest Position(s): WR

I really like Smith-Schuster (I probably would have drafted him at 1.10 if he had slipped to me). Super young at 22 years old and moving into the WR1 spot now that AB is gone, there’s a real chance that JuJu could be the top receiver in FF this year. With other young veterans such as Diggs, Boyd, and Shepard, Bryon’s receiving corps should be in good hands.

[Bryon’s team = good hands.
This guy = not so much.]

Weakest Position(s): QB

Weird to say the position is weak with two first-ballot HOFers on the roster, but Brady is year-to-year at this point (and in an offense that is now more run-focused than pass-oriented). Rodgers still has a few years left, but has had to play through injuries in recent years. With the only other option being Daniel Jones, Bryon will have to address the position in future drafts. Like, soon.

Best Value: Duke Johnson

Not sure this would have been my pick last week, but now that Lamar Miller is down for the season, Johnson will be looking to pound some balls into gaping holes (I’m such a child). I don’t think Duke will ever be the featured back – I’m assuming that person isn’t on the Texans’ roster right now – but there’s no reason he can’t get back to being a 3rd-down RB with some upside.

Eyebrow Raiser: Two TEs

Bryon drafted TEs with his selections at 9.09 and 10.2. It wasn’t a bad idea to grab one in this range, but I wouldn’t have taken TEs in back-to-back rounds (especially a couple picks apart). With higher-scoring options like then-healthy Lamar Miller, Dak, and James White – or rookies like Devin Singletary and Justice Hill – there were other positions that could have been bolstered with better talent.

Sleeper(s): Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers

I can hear you now: “Sleepers? How the eff are Brady and Rodgers sleepers? Everyone knows who they are and how well they continue to play!” I’m coming at this from a different tack. You see, with a combined age of 77 years, I’m guessing these geriatrics will need lots of nappy-time between diaper changes and feedings of Gerber baby food.

[See, Bryon…you’ve got more in common with elite QBs than you thought!]

Overall Score: B- (even though my gut says C+)

Sporting ancient QBs as well as question marks with nearly every RB (will Gurley’s knee hold up? Can Sony Michel carve out a meaningful role in RB-heavy New England? Will Phillip Lindsay still be the lead back, or are the rumblings of a time split with Royce Freeman a reality?), there are some reasons for concern. I would also argue that the back half of the draft left a lot to be desired for the Buzzster (understandable when the last handful of rounds were auto-picked, but still…). There are some good building blocks here, but trades and/or upcoming rookies should make the team stronger for the long-haul.

p.s. By missing out on OBJ, a new team name is in order. I’ve done some brainstorming and this is what I came up with:
