I played fantasy football with Redman for the first decade after I started. As I alluded to in my introductory post, he’s a sneaky-good player, seemingly able to hit on damn near every pick he makes. That being said, the past is the past. Let’s see how he did this year in The Terrible Ten, shall we?
Cody (redshirtfreshmn)
Strongest Position(s): WR
With two of the top receivers in the league (OBJ and Julio), Redman locked down the position from the onset. But, he didn’t stop there. By collecting additional veteran talent and adding rookies like Marquise Brown and JJAW, wide receiver should be a position of strength for years to come.
Weakest Position(s): TE
If you have to be weak in fantasy football, tight end isn’t a bad place to struggle. Outside of Kelce, Ertz, and Kittle, many of the offerings are pretty lackluster. Take Kyle Rudolph, for example. He finished as a top-10 TE last year, but a full 25% (!!) of his points came in a single meaningless game at the end of the season. Unless Cousins starts looking his way, Rudolph will prove to be a frustrating play. Add in Gesicki (who was awful as a rookie last year) and Fant (by all accounts a very good TE, but unproven as of yet) and it’ll be a roller coaster getting anything from the position in the near future.

Best Value: Donte Moncrief
With AB’s 168 targets now in OAK, the Pittsburgh receivers not named JuJu could be thrust into relevance in a big way. Taking Moncrief at 19.4 could prove to be one of the best late-round picks in the draft, giving Red a hidden gem that pays back tenfold.

Eyebrow Raiser: Leonard Fournette
I actually like Leonard Fournette when he’s healthy, but that’s my main concern: his ability to stay on the field. In his first two seasons he’s missed 11 games. Add in the other RBs that were available over the next couple rounds (Connor, Gordon, Bell, Michel, Kerryon Johnson, Jacobs, etc), and I think Red would have been better served looking elsewhere for his RB1.
Least Shocking Pick in the History of Fantasy Football: Julio Jones
As stated above, I’ve played with Redman for many years. His affinity for elite receivers, especially Megatron and Julio Jones, has played out year after year after year. To see redshirtfreshmn lock up Julio was as much of a given as Trump being bombastic on a daily basis.

Overall Score: B-
While I think Redman made some very solid picks in the top half of the draft, there are some wildcards after that, especially in rounds 21-25. There should be enough here to make some waves this season, but he’ll need some of his rookies to step up if he’s going to have the depth to handle injuries or crappy play from any of the others.
