Three of you fellas – Ted and The Two Scotts – have been in leagues I’ve commissioned before. They already know what I’m about to tell the rest of you: I like writing these newsletters. A lot. I have no idea if you guys enjoy them or not, but it’s fair to say I’m my … More 2019 Week Six Recap
Sweeeeeet Jesus, what a week for fantasy football. I heard it was a record-setter, marking the first time five players went for over 40 points in a single week, and there were plenty more nipping at their heels with a bunch of 30+ point games. If you didn’t have at least one of the big … More 2019 Week Five Recap
Honest to God, is there an easier game to play than fantasy football?! I mean only a dolt wouldn’t foresee the Browns going on the road and destroying the Ravens. And seriously, is there anyone out there who didn’t know the Bucs and Rams would score almost 100 total points, and that Tampa Bay would … More 2019 Week Four Recap
Feels like I could open every newsletter with a comment on the current week’s injuries (Barkley’s ankle being the most recent HUGE story), but let’s shift gears to the young QBs who have been lighting it up this year. Mahomes is still a man among boys. Brissett and Minshew have been serviceable QBs after being … More 2019 Week Three Recap
Another week into the season, another week of high-profile players going down. Big Ben’s arm surgery will keep him sidelined until next season, while Brees’ hand injury will have him missing half of the FF regular season. As tough as those losses are, both pale in comparison to the apparent abduction of the Carolina Panthers’ … More 2019 Week Two Recap
Week One is in the books, and what a wild week it was! Some of the league’s studs did a whole lot of nothing; numerous rookies put up massive numbers; a rash of injuries took out some high-profile players (never heard of so many collarbone issues in my life); and we all heard more than … More 2019 Week One Recap
And so we come to Scott Palmquist. I have to admit I’m pretty damned happy he accepted the invitation to join The Terrible Ten. Scott has always been one of the strongest players in my office league, and for years he’s been interested in trying auctions, PPR, guillotines, and yes, dynasties. Because so many people … More Draft Report Card for Growler Prowler
Zzzzzzzzz. *mumblemumblemumble* Zzzzzzzzz. *snortcoughmumble* *fart* Zzzzzzzzz. Bryon (OBJYN) Strongest Position(s): WR I really like Smith-Schuster (I probably would have drafted him at 1.10 if he had slipped to me). Super young at 22 years old and moving into the WR1 spot now that AB is gone, there’s a real chance that JuJu could be the … More Draft Report Card for OBJYN
Osterloh joined my work league in its infancy and blew in like a hurricane, winning the championship in our second year of existence. Of all the people in The Terrible Ten, Scott is more entrenched in the game than anyone — he writes for Dynasty Football Factory; he plays in a ridiculous amount of leagues, … More Draft Report Card for Great Scottsmen
It can be fun to create leagues with family, neighbors, coworkers, etc, but let’s be real: they’re not a good measure of someone being a good fantasy football player. For instance, I’ve won 4 out of 5 championships in my office pool. Trust me, it’s not because I’m that good; rather, it’s a commentary on … More Draft Report Card for The Analrapists
